The village of Molinos is a 30 minute drive from La Banda Grande estate on the other side of the river Calchaqui. Visit the beautiful colonial church, the Museum of pre-Columbian art and history and the vicuna farm and shop 'Entre Rios'. Have lunch at the the beautiful colonial hotel Hacienda de Molinos or one of the other small small restaurants.
The village of Seclantás is a 30 minute drive from La Banda Grande estate. It lies along the 'ruta de los tejedores', where local weavers display theirhand-woven woollen ponchos, blankets, shawls and other handicrafts alongside the road and offer these for sale.
There are several small restaurants in Seclantás where you can stop for lunch or coffee.
The vineyard and hotel "Estancia de Colome" is approximately an hour‘s drive from La Banda Grande estate. Visit its vineyards and taste the delicious red and white wines. See the impressive light installations at the museum of James Turrell. Have lunch at the visitors centre

The village of Cachi is a one-and-a-half hour drive from La Banda Grande estate. Visit the delightful colonial church and impressive collection of pre-Columbian art and history in the museum next to the church. Wonder along the many small shops offering local handicrafts. In the tourist season there are often small handicraft fairs on central market place. Have lunch or coffee at one of the many small restaurants and bars.
The wild, romantic 'laguna de Brealito' lake is a two-hour drive from La Banda Grande estate. The road is very narrow and rough in some parts and not very well signposted. Depending on the season, a 4x4 car is advisable. Once there though, you will be rewarded by a beautiful arrid landscape.
